RESEARCH: Fun with Swinging Strikes

Two years ago, we researched the topic of a pitcher's ability to induce swinging strikes. Just last week, we revisited that topic, examining how effective various types of pitches are at inducing whiffs.
Let's briefly recap what we know so that we can spend most of today's article applying our findings to various pitchers.
- There is a high correlation between swinging strike percentage (SS%) and strikeouts per nine innings pitched (Dom). We even have a formula for computing xDom based on SS%.
- There is a much weaker connection between getting called strikes and Dom. For most pitchers, the more repeatable skill is inducing swinging strikes.
- Unless we limit ourselves to pitchers with extreme differences between Dom and xDom...
