GM's OFFICE: Trade negotiation workshop—TOUT/LABR edition

If I were to complete a self-assessment on my skills as a fantasy GM, I would rank my trading acumen among my weakest skills. Part of that is opportunity-based: one of the formats that I play religiously is the National Fantasy Baseball Championship, which is a no-trading format. Still, opportunity isn't the only reason I'm a bad trader: if I were to extend that self-assessment, I tend to be impatient; seeking to reach my desired outcome quickly rather than taking a more diligent approach that could lead to an even better outcome.

Our NL East Playing Time Analyst, Phil Hertz, has been a longtime competitor in NL-Tout Wars (and he's currently leading that league). There's a running joke in the Tout community that you can't close a deal...
