AL West: SEA's Opening Day questions

Despite what has been a successful depth-building offseason with respect to an offense that struggled in 2023, the Mariners are closing in Opening Day with lineup questions, notably in LF and at 3B. Over from TAM via trade, Luke Raley has struggled to date this spring, going 1-for-18 with 7 Ks, and reminding everyone how contact-challenged he was during the 2H of 2023 (63% ct%, .211 BA over 182 PA). Overall, the left-handed-hitting Raley enjoyed a fine power/speed-fueled season last year (.813 OPS, 19 HR, 14 SB), but his contact was a red flag throughout. And unless something changes soon, he'll find himself as a bench OF/1B utility on Opening Day.

Rookie Dominic Canzone is currently ahead of Raley in the pecking order...
