ROTISSERIE: Santana Plan anchors for 2021—Part 1

The Santana Plan is a roster construction strategy that advocates buying one elite starting pitcher that satisfies statistical screens for excellence over his past two seasons. The Santana Plan anchors are not necessarily the best starting pitchers for 2021, but instead are the elite starters who are most likely to retain in 2021 the skills they previously have displayed.
For the 2021 season, we have five Santana Plan anchors, plus two honorable mentions. The Santana Plan anchors are Shane Bieber (RHP, CLE), Trevor Bauer (RHP, LAD), Jacob deGrom (RHP, NYM), Yu Darvish (RHP, SD), and Gerrit Cole (RHP, NYY).
