There is pretty much global fantasy consensus on the top 10-15 players in baseball for 2013. It's right there in the Average Draft Position (ADP) and Average Auction Value (AAV) rankings on all the websites. It's irrefutable. And it's mostly all wrong.

Year-to-year player performance does not inherently follow a smooth trend for any player. Rather, surges are followed by declines, and declines by surges, even as overall growth may still occur. These swings are constant and far wilder than we'd care to admit.

It's a great game. Roto500 uses a single currency for valuing, purchasing and selling of players. Now it's time to make it more accessible.

There is one thing missing with most standalone ranking systems. Projected player rankings need to be benched against the marketplace. It doesn't matter where I rank Carlos Beltran. It matters where I rank Beltran in comparison to where he is likely to go in my draft.
