Starting pitchers have been earning fewer and fewer Wins in recent years. The percent of games started in which the SP earns a Win consistently hovered at about 35% from 2002-2014 before turning downward by an average of 1% per year from 2015-2021, to the point that the average SP won only 28% of their starts in 2021:
