How does the forum format work?
These events are laid-back, casual sessions. Ron Shandler or Rick Wilton moderate. They, along with several other speakers, lead a three hour presentation that contains hard information and interactive activities. During the closing portion of the forum, your questions take center stage. The speakers will address as many of those as time permits. There is also a short break, at which time you can feel free to talk to the speakers one-on-one, and even ask them their opinion on your own fantasy roster.
What types of questions can I ask?
There are no rules or limits here. You can ask if Shaun Marcum will be ready for Opening Day. You can ask who they'd pick as a last keeper between Chase Headley and Andy LaRoche. You can ask what type of draft strategy is the most effective in throwing off the balance of power in a keeper league. You can ask about Rotisserie, or Scoresheet, or any other game you play. You can ask about which information sources or draft prep tools are the most valuable. No limits.
Will the speakers be available after the forums?
For a short period of time only. For many of the sessions, Ron and Rick will likely have to beat a hasty path to their next forum site, but the other speakers and panelists are usually available for questions.
What will I get out of these forums that I can't get from just reading the speakers' books and web sites?
The major advantage of these forums is their interactivity. The formal presentation is geared towards providing information that is not available from other sources. The Q&A session provides you with instant feedback on your own personal issues. And the opportunity to spend three hours with fellow fantasy leaguers from your area offers a host of advantages from a networking and social standpoint.
