RESEARCH: Santana Plan targets for 2013

The Santana Plan is a roster construction strategy that advocates building a pitching staff around one elite starter. A Santana Plan anchor is a starter who meets objective requirements for skills and results.
The original research covered 20 years, and showed that while pitchers overall retain an average of 52% of their previous year’s value, Plan anchors retain 80%—a huge difference in consistency that can lower your risk and give you a tactical advantage at the draft.
