I am not a big fan of chats where the moderator steamrolls through dozens upon dozens of questions with one-word responses.

“Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he’ll eat forever.” That’s how I conduct my chats. I am all about providing the insight you need to make future decisions on your own.

However, the other goal during my hour is to provide answers to as many questions as possible (I shoot for 20-25). It’s a challenge to provide a high quantity of high quality responses. So I ask you to keep a few things in mind when you submit a question. The queues here are long; adhering to the following will significantly increase the odds of getting your question answered:

1. Keep it concise, but include enough contextual information for me to construct a reasoned response. I automatically pass on any question that takes me longer than 10 seconds to read.

2. Include one question per submission. Some folks ask me 2-3 questions at a time. I’ll typically pass on those.

3. Do not ask me questions that would require more than 1-2 minutes of research. I will click “Delete” if you ask me to rank 10 players or ask open ended questions like, "What free agents should I go after in my 10-team mixed league?"

4. These chats are open to everybody in the universe. However, if your question contains enough buzzwords to let me know you’ve come from BaseballHQ.com, I’ll try to bump you up the list.
