| DECEMBER 20 (Boston Herald): "Medical paranoia appears to have spread to Major League Baseball. According to officials with two clubs, all team doctors and trainers were informed during the winter meetings that they are no longer permitted to speak with the media and that all comments on injuries must now come from either managers or GMs. Teams were told that significant fines would be levied for any doctor or trainer breaking the rule. The clubs were also asked to report any member of the media attempting to contact a doctor or trainer to MLB."
